It's always nice to hear about when a monster is slain. The trouble is like Zalatix said-there's always another one to replace them. They breed by releasing clouds of spores. To remove a thorn vine you have to cut out the root.

Texas judge Pat Priest sentenced DeLay to three years on a conspiracy charge and also sentenced him to five years in prison for money laundering. Priest, however, allowed DeLay to accept 10 years probation on the money laundering charge, assuming he meets certain conditions set by the court.

DeLay could have received up to life in prison on the money laundering and conspiracy charges.

What's ten years in a cushy white collar jail? All their wealth, sympathizers and influence is waiting for them when they get out.

If it were a former Democratic congressman, even a back-bencher, going to prison for three years, the media would be all over it; since its a Republican, even though he was the friggin majority leader, it goes to page B16.
