Take note, folks that there are a lot of people who are going to stand up for Rush "even though they don't like him, don't listen to him, don't agree with him, but...." go on to defend him.

What a lot of Rush apologists / defenders are missing is that Rush put himself in this position all - by - himself.
His 3 day tyrade against Fluke really pissed off a lot of people and they are now coming to the conclusion that enough is enough. He was even bi-partisan about it too; plenty of Republican women take birth control.
People are outraged and Rush's sponsors "get that", so now he's bad for business and they are fleeing him.
As for AFR, if enough of the public wants him off, then he needs to go. The military is subject to the American people and the people are speaking.

Bill Maher WAS booted from his previous show, for saying things far less divisive than the bullshit spewed from Limbaugh's mouth. And now he's on a CABLE TELEVISION channel, not public radio. I'm sure you're not quite bright enough to understand the difference, but I assure you that it's there. Also, Maher isn't the chief figurehead/representative of the Democratic party like Limbaugh is with the GOP. Which is why I signed it, as it was government money going towards his program.

However, I don't agree with asking the government to shut him out from Airing his views. I can disagree completely with someone but like Voltaire mentions, would defend their right to say it.

Stating that, I don't find it as two sided of me to ask for scrapping his funds from the AFN, nor do I have a problem with the FCC fining him for his spewed garbage. In fact, I consider paying the fine as his right of civil disobedience, meaning he can do whatever he wants as long as he is willing to pay for the consequences. He earns enough any way.

Like I said, I don't agree with what he says, he can say it and promote it all he wishes, but I also think that it is fine to require him to pay the FCC and get his funding cut. It is not as if they don't ask for NPR to get their funds cut either.
