But since CNN did not pick on it, it never happened.
Oh and for some strange reason teleformula, which I quoted, does not do YouTube uploads that I coud find
Suffice I to say, after this I will post in metric when applicable, if. Even chose to post it. If it's not on your tv, it did no happen...never mind I was ten minutes from the worst affected area, and the taxi driver was forced to take an alterate route since the road to the airport was closed due to yes, ice.

Considering that I went through Katrina and lived through its devastation, I get extremely cautious when I hear CNN report on any damn thing regarding natural disasters.
Would you like to refute that CNN was an army of idiots reporting on a disaster, or would you like for me to tell you first hand what it was like, because I was here, start to finish, during another disaster and their "coverage".

(20,606 posts)We had 35 feet of water. So deep it floated up an airplane fueling tank into the middle of Interstate 10.
And yeah, you could float a canoe - you could also pray for your life and float a barge into a main intercoastal bridge. A 35 foot fishing boat ended up inside the local AutoZone.
Same difference. That's what pisses me off about CNN. They are all about, "well it was bad, but look what happened today in BFE, Nebraska. A creek overflowed and 12 schoolchildren spent the day reveling in the fact that school was out, and they got to play in the water!"

BTW, I'm not doubting you because it wasn't on CNN, I'm doubling you because I've failed to see any source say that much hail fell. And then there's the fact you posted that there are 60cm in a meter, so I'd pretty much doubt any metric conversion from you.

Rhodes is right... Have a good day. Don't worry, all of us in that flight from Mexico City to San Diego had a collective outbreak of the imagination. Reporter said from the field UN metro de concentración de hielo.
I guess it is my fault they did not upload video to YouTube. Alas they did not.
By the way I made a mistake with the metric system. I was running a 38.8 centigrade temp at the time. We are all human. Right now it s down to 37.6... Yes, my thermometer is set to centigrade. So that is life...feel free to convert, or not. Suffice I to say IT IS HIGH. I am not perfect, but won't bother posting any weird weather event again. Especially one that happens in a foreign country.

(12,017 posts)but since you're reading, this is your typical response...you get called on your misreporting of a story and you go hide... normally you just hide yourself but in this case you decided to wipe your trail... but you are right about two things: there was no icestorm and there was no situation where 4 feet of hail fell from the sky (your own posted links prove that).

nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)The Mexican media collectively imagined this. They also imagined the 12 injuries and the road closures due to ice. Oh and the two roof collapses...
I guess they add good stuff to that water. No wonder there s a war on drugs...it's in the damn municipal water system.
Next time will keep this to those in close family who care. DU...well you know.
ProdigalJunkMail
(12,017 posts)you were wrong or your source was wrong. three to four FEET of hail would be an epic event. it just doesn't happen. it might have drifted into an area to a single spot that deep but even your own source documentation links suggested no more than a few inches which would be perfectly possible for a hail storm.
but, you effectively call us that disagree with you and call you on your 'reporting' ignorant by suggesting that if it didn't show up on CNN it must not have happened as far as we're concerned. i have probably watched a total of one hour of CNN in the last three years and only then because it was on the damned TV's in the airport.

(12,017 posts)that doesn't show nearly what YOU reported and STILL HAVEN'T FUCKING RETRACTED or even CORRECTED. you don't fucking get it. you cannot say "I was wrong." you are utterly incapable of it. you shift and accuse and insult all while still being dead wrong. the video shows a reporter in about 1.5ft of hail that has washed up due to runoff (that's less than 50cm). but you still want to crow, "LOOK LOOK someone found the video!!"
while they found the video that makes you look more ridiculous than ever...
sP
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)As in block sized areas ... Which is what I posted. I posted most of it was in the centimeter range. You go do conversions.
And how exactly is one of the NEWS videos make me look ridiculous. You said this never, ever, cross my heart, happened. Well, here you go...actual evidence that it did. And you still continue the personal attacks.
Let's be hoest here, if I posted the sky is blue outside my window and it's sunny, you'd say that's not possible.
Now the actual teleforma, I have not found...they never uploaded it. I guess that is my fault too.
But truth be told I can post I have the tv on tuned to msnbc and you'd dispute it.
That is the truth.
So that's the truth.
But don't worry, next freak weather event, ESPECIALLY IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY, I will not post here. I mean they never, ever, cross your heart, happened.
Next freak weather event in San Diego, I will be out there documenting and not posting here anyway.
But don't trust me, turn to NOAA weather, maybe you can trust them...it s nice and sunny out my window right now.

but you conveniently deleted all your posts so now your tracks are covered.
sP
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)That is Avenida de Los Ahuehuetes. They removed upwards of fifty METRIC tons of ice from the storm.
You can even WATCH the video. But you still cannot admit that perhaps the ORIGINAL OP was correct. It was a freak hail storm. It did concentrate in more than just half a centimeter in some places. But all the video evidence will not be enough for you. It's all about proving how bad I am. Sorry bob, there is increasing evidence as they are finally uploaded. Or did this reporter also make it up and that was the special effects studio at Churubusco? I mean if this was SoCal, I'd have to mention ILM.
I am not fixated on you. At this point I find this, quite frankly, comical.
ProdigalJunkMail
(12,017 posts)it did NOT. it washed up in piles a foot, MAYBE two feet, deep. it is not the same thing. but you won't ever admit that you were wrong and now you can say, "you have your facts wrong" because you conveniently deleted the bullshit you posted that shows you fighting over an over again to show you are right all the while insulting anyone who disagreed with you by suggesting that they are incapable of accepting news from other countries...the problem is YOUR NEWS IS WRONG.
i would wager i have been to more countries than you and have interacted with more diverse cultures than you have but the funny thing is you get to sit behind your safe little computer screen and accuse me of being myopic...you're a joke.
sP
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)Since you have never made a mistake. I removed it, and I will not post another freak weather event here again.
I also explained, not that you care, why I made a few errors.
As to the meter or so in depth fall, sorry bob, teleforma has not uploaded the video, and it was a block or so as well.
As to the mechanism...there are a few likely explanations. But Avenida de Los Ahuehuetes received fifty metric tons and about half a meter hail fall in a block or two, as the video showed it took all night to clear, more or less. Periferico Constituyentes was closed due to ice at five in the morning, when the taxi driver drove by it. we took the Acueducto and wondered if Avenida Churubusco, which was flooded out overnight, was already clear, which it was.
There were major traffic problems due to floods. There were twelve minor injuries, with two people taken to the Red Cross hospital in Polanco by Red Cross Medics and two roofs did indeed collapse. One a false roof in polanco at a movie theater, the other at a market in the Delegación Venustiano Carranza.
But you are correct, it NEVER EVER HAPPENED Prodigaljunkmail, all emerging evidence, in video or photos, you were demanding, to the contrary. This is why this is so damn comical at this point. You are getting what you DEMANDED and you accuse me of doing what YOU are doing.
I removed thread and the rest since I did not feel like dealing with this crap. Lesson learned DO NOT POST WHAT HAPENS IN OTHER COUNTRIES UNTIL THEIR MEDIA POST VIDEOS. in the case of mexico it seems to take 72 hours or longer. Such is life. This means do not post, period.
Oh and here is a piece of trivia...the pattern of storms fits the science for something your neighbors to the South are not in denial over. This is why these freak events are of interest when they are indeed part of a pattern, which this is.
Have a good day... At this point you have actually made me smile, even if I still feel like crap. Fevers are all but fun, so thank you. Believe it or not you brightened my day. This high comedy is quite lovely. You should consider the improv. Now better check on that temp...
ProdigalJunkMail
(12,017 posts)all the rest of this is sophistry to make you look like the victim and so you can play martyr...but at least you can admit you were wrong, and in that I will gladly eat crow and apologize for saying you could not do so.
nadin, i have nothing against you. i really don't. sometimes you post really compelling stuff. and i am not certain what all of this was about for you.
i do hope you get well...and if my insanity over factual correctness brought a smile to your face then i will be glad in that.

nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)I corrected a conversion done while running a 38.4 centigrade fever. Sorry bob, I made an error in conversions. I owned to it, but that is not enough for the perfect people like you. So after the constant harrastment I removed it. I will not post freak weather events here again, especially if they Happen in a place where we now have emerging evidence I was right.
But I did revise and then just stuck to metric. And from now on I will be lazy and post in metric when units of measure are given in metric. I am sure somebody as perfect as you can handle the conversion. But in this case, notwithstanding emerging evidence that some areas got more ice than just a few centimeters you are digging heels. It s damn hilarious to be honest. It is improv worthy. You should consider comedy.
By the way there are wonderful places for you to convert that to Fahrenheit if you care. My thermometer is set to centigrade and I am not going to bother with it except when I go to the doctor.

(146,317 posts)There was a hailstorm, and a pretty big one, apparently. But hail didn't fall a meter deep. It might have drifted up somewhere, carried by runoff, but that's not how much hail fell. It looks like maybe three or four inches.
If you make a mistake, there's nothing wrong with that. Deleting your post, rather than editing it, and then getting all passive-aggressive about this "if CNN..." stuff just doesn't work.
A hailstorm. They happen all over. We had a cool one here last summer, with golf ball sized hail. It was pretty dramatic. There were photos in the local paper, too. CNN did not cover it. Why would they? It's just a freaking hailstorm.

In fact, this situation is very similar to a case that occurred a few years ago and even the excuses for following her around, almost identical. As for the freeper gender based comments, sorry, they are far too vile to repeat. But if I had no problem seeing them, anyone familiar with that site had no problem either. And anyone who did see them and in any way encouraged them by joining their obsession, is responsible for their own part in encouraging them.
Someone being wrong on the internet is no excuse for becoming obsessed with that person. And anyone who finds themselves so obsessed, has more to worry about than someone being wrong on the internet.
The solution is simple.

(12,017 posts)i have very rarely only read off this site that you mention and have never had an account there and never posted. so what are you talking about and why are you talking about it here? your post clearly said, "when i see a bunch of freeper men stalking a female DUer" on a thread that, to this point, hasn't mentioned anything about a link to people from any other site. that would indicate you are talking about people IN THIS THREAD. so...who and what did they say?

(12,017 posts)what freepers are you talking about? what are the people on this board doing to 'feed' them. the comments, corrections and questions i have made are limited to this board and i don't have any knowledge of what goes on with this other board.

(62,325 posts)was wrong about something that could actually have caused someone else harm? I did not see that but if true, that is a pretty big mistake. I'm sure there was a full admission made publicly and with a warning never to take advice from would-be experts on the internet. And I'm sure those who are so outraged over the 'hail' story, were equally out-raged over that?

(146,317 posts)I'm afraid I can't answer without a link to the post to which you refer. I'd have to see it in context. Provide the link, and I'll respond.
23 inches in some areas. IN SOME AREAS. I wasn't there, just illustrating the distortion in the media. I am familiar with it.
I went through Katrina. There was widespread destruction in oh.. some areas. To those in those areas, it was pretty significant, but when you are attempting to minimize the suffering of people in a natural disaster, it's "minimal".

(12,017 posts)some of us cannot get the images or answers that would back up some of the more fantastic claims... my only guess here is that this was rail that had drifted into one spot due to runoff as all the POSTED LINKS that contained images showed a couple of inches of hail... not the miraculous feet that were claimed. Four feet of hail (even three) would have been worthy of international news like the flooding in Europe a while back...
