Did Obama's Approval Rate Really Collapse?

First Read looks at the dramatic drop in President Obama's approval rating found in last night's CBS/NYT poll but suggests it may be an outlier since there's no major event which occurred in the past month to account for this drop.

"It's probably worth waiting for a few more national polls before reaching the conclusion that something has happened to Obama's standing in the past month."

More Americans Say They're Better Off

A new Bloomberg poll finds more Americans now say they are personally better off since President Obama took office than worse off, 38% to 36%, the first favorable reading for the president on that question since Bloomberg began asking in December 2010.

That said, Americans are still far from content, with 61% saying the U.S. is moving in the wrong direction.

And played clip after clip of the GOP clown club repeating the mantra that high gas prices are the President's fault, especially the one of Gingrich claiming he would have $2.50 a gallon gas as soon as he was elected.

But the talking heads who had to read the claptrap did not seem enthusiastic about it.

Remember how they shot up in 2008 and it was all the Dems in Congress fault?

It's their election year tool and an excellent way to get the attention of most Americans.

I thought they did it to get rid of President Jimmy Carter and I think they're doing it now to try to defeat President Obama. Since much of the increase in gas prices seems to be caused by speculative trading, it wouldn't all that hard to do for the party with incredibly wealthy backers.

Until November. If the economy is going well and Gas is down Obama will win. Waste of time until then.

Jon Stewart did a piece on the GOP giving the media talking points to help the GOP candidates defeat Obama. He showed how FOX was applying them and even showed when one of the dunderheads read it allowed on TeeVee.

the questions are worded so that the results can be interpreted any number of ways so it can be shown that the results is what the pollsters want it to reflect. It's all bull shit, the smelly kind too

Our phone number used to be on the call list for pollsters. One day I call bullshit on the way they were asking me the question they were asking and guess what, no more calls from the pollsters here.

They are trying to link it to gas prices because that's all the GOP has. The GOP is cratering, and they are trying to construct the narrative that it's "close". Nobody really wants Romney and he is pretty much being forced on the GOP, so there is a decided lack of enthusiasm.

They are trying to make it sound like the GOP has a chance so that they have something to report on during the "exciting" campaign season. Every time a Republican opens their mouth and says something stupid about women's health, they lose another voter. Every time Romney opens his mouth, the GOP gets a little more demoralized.

Several BILLION Dollars will be collected by the Politicians and the Media this year,
but ONLY if they can make it look like a dramatic, too close to call, Horse Race.
That is WHY we are being treated to the Republican Clown Circus,
and polls and predictions of Obama's possible loss.

Donations will dry up for BOTH Parties if Republicans concede now.
Elections ARE a Multi-Billion Dollar Business,
especially now that our Media has been Privatized & Consolidated,
as well as our Voting Process.

Are you enjoying the Kabuki?
I don't want to ruin the drama for you,
but Republicans aren't scheduled to "re-take" the White House in another Too close to call Horse Race until 2016.

You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their Campaigns.
