http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/nc-county-doesnt-want-taxpayers-to-pay-for-loose-women-rejects-family-planning-funds.php?ref=fpnewsfeedThe elected county commissioners in New Hanover County, N.C. are sick and tired of using taxpayer funds to assist women who cant keep their legs closed. And so on Monday they voted to reject a state grant designed to cover family-planning services.

What the Hell is happening to this country?!

(67,111 posts)of times. If the R's ever gain full control of this country again, it's going to be a real hell hole.
It's become a stupid, ignorant bullying place. I just can't believe what the R's are trying to do to women. They must have a list they go down for who's current on their hate list. It's so pervasive, I don't see how they keep up with whom they currently hate.

(67,111 posts)lesbianism lifestyle. Just think of all of the problems it would solve for them now they have targeted women in this country as enemy #1. And another solution is state sanctioned mandatory vasectomies for men. That, would help too!
No worries about birth control, no worries about pregnancy, no worries about AIDS, since it is extremely rare in lesbians.
Oh but wait. That's not what this is about. This is about getting women out of the work force and back "in their place" which is serving a man.
I'm so relieved to be a lesbian at this point, seeing what straight women are being subjected to. Well, other than the obvious benefits I also enjoy

(4,276 posts)This is one of the dumbest statements I've ever heard...
"Chairman Ted Davis said he thought it was a sad day when taxpayers are asked to pay money for contraceptives for women having sex without planning responsibly."
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/nc-county-doesnt-want-taxpayers-to-pay-for-loose-women-rejects-family-planning-funds.php?ref=fpnewsfeed
My first question is...
Don't you men understand that the use of contraceptives is actually the ONLY way to plan responsibly when having sex? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. Just think about it for awhile and maybe ask a few women for their opinions.
My second question is how many times in your sexual history (assuming that you do, in fact, have a sexual history) did you have sex for reasons OTHER than procreation? Are you willing to stand up before your constituents and swear that you've never had sex just for the fun of it? Not even once?
And if you did, then...My third question is, was contraception used or were you just lucky? Remember, the truth will set you free.
But if you didn't have sex just for the fun of it, ok...My fourth question is when your wife goes through menopause or has a hysterectomy will you stop having sex (or have you already)? After all, sex under those circumstances would not be for procreation.
And what if you or your wife had been (are) infertile....no sex then? Interesting scenario, isn't it?
Which brings us to yet, another question....if any (or all of you) should at some time (if not already) suffer from Erectile Dysfunction, will you accept that as a sign from God that he no longer wants you to engage in sexual activity and therefore you will forego the use of Viagra, Cialis, etc. etc. etc? (But of course the menopause/hysterectomy thing would make this a moot point. Sorry if you've married a younger woman. Stuff happens.) Inquiring minds want to know.
These are just some of the things that should be discussed in light of your recent archaic thought processes and subsequent anti-woman decision.
Now more to the point...Your action on this particular issue before the Board of County Commissioners defies logic and common sense.
How do you expect a good outcome from your decision not to accept state funds for family planning? What do you think the result will be from taking away access to contraception? Has it occurred to you on any intellectual level that the lack of funding will in NO way stop persons from engaging in sex which is a natural and normal human behavior? Your vote will only add to the problem of unwanted pregnancies and increase the number of births to families who cannot care for the resulting children.
Yes, it's a sad day, but not because taxpayers are asked to pay money for contraceptives....it's a sad day when a group of small-minded men sink to the lowest level of humanity by denying services to those who need them the most.
You should be ashamed of yourselves, both as men and as North Carolinians. Instead of being Tarheels, you should be tarred and feathered.
I have wondered allowed on many of the points you raise - per what it means for men if sex is only for procreation. And notice how men are never mentioned in these statements? Contraceptives aren't needed unless sperm is somehow present near eggs which could be fertilized. Or perhaps these wanton women are being wanton with sperm filled turkey basters?

(8,224 posts)Is that I am quite sure I would have had less sex within marriage without BC. I don't think my insurance ever paid for it. However, I am pretty sure that neither of my wives would have been available as often without it. I also recall an uptick in activity once the vasectomy I had was proven to have worked....
