Two conservative idiots: on Bill Maher's donation to the super-PAC

http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/12/opinion/christoph-terrel-bill-maher/index.html

(CNN) -- As women, feminists, mothers to daughters and activists, we read the recent opinion piece on conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh by Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem and Robin Morgan with great anticipation. Once we had finished reading, we were left with feelings of amusement, amazement and, yes, agreement.

As women, we agree with them that hate speech and sexism against women is wrong in all forms, on all playing fields. Women who enter the public arena and stand up for their beliefs should be celebrated, whether we agree with them or not. Arguing with their beliefs is one matter; using derogatory terms or hate speech is another. Men who practice this regularly should apologize and change their ways and face the consequences.

As feminists, we read the piece with amazement. Recently, an entertainer, political activist and major donor has referred to women in the political arena with vile obscenities as well as words such as "bimbos," "boobs" and "MILFs."

Bill Maher has advocated, in one case, that someone should "choke this b***h" and argued that voters would prefer to see a female candidate "splayed out on the hood of a car" rather than making decisions in the Oval Office. A recent video produced by ShePAC highlights some of Maher's "greatest hits" against women and special needs children. In 48 hours, more than 250,000 viewed it.

The authors: Editor's note: Teri Christoph and Suzanne Haik Terrell are co-chairwomen of ShePAC, a "movement to support, honor and elect conservative women." Christoph is the co-founder of Smart Girl Politics, a nonprofit organization founded in 2008 to encourage conservative women to get involved in the political process. Terrell, an attorney, is a former Louisiana state elections commissioner and was a 2002 Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate.

to make outlandish, over the top statements about people in the news, specifically the political news.....and thank you Bill for making me laugh my ass off all these years.....while the other guy....well....

the other is a right wing Bully talk show host....with sponsors, advertisers, fsas...who is expected to keep his language and personal behavior over the top because he is RUSH.....and commands a mostly frothing male audience who delight in his hate speech and misogynistic statements about defenseless people, mainly women......a showman that is grossly overrated, highly overpaid, and if his audience numbers (15 mil) are honest, must have the misogynistic audience all to himself.....

I think that there is a WORLD of difference in there audiences (similar to the candidates that are lying to the American public) ......one pays to be entertained and the other pays to be bullied......

While Maher deserves criticism and he got plenty FROM the left... liberals, Democrats, DUers, feminists, and progressives need to reject the Maher smokescreen and keep the pressure on Limbaugh.

I am sure it will be both worthwhile as well as entertaining to watch.

Outside of the damning video that you claim that your own organization has produced, all I have to go on are the words written in the hit piece you wrote which appeared on the CNN Opinion page. Oh yes, that and your testimony that "more than 250,000 viewed your video in a span of 48 hours"; as if to imply that your unsubstantiated claim to that number of viewers somehow gives validity to your point of view.

Sounds to me awfully like Breitbart is still among the living. Or perhaps O'keefe had his legs waxed and is still making slander videos.

This piece has so much wrong with it that it is hard for me to know where to begin. For one thing, it was immediately apparent how quick you were to cloak yourselves in the mantle of "feminist", as you played it to the max on both sides of the isle in an attempt to garner support for your premise. I am sure that as right wing charlatans you have almost nothing in common with the feminists who reside on the left. And for that matter, even coming from the right wing while using the word feminist to describe yourselves smacks of oxymoron almost as much as does Unsanitorm's draping of himself in the mantle of the pious.

If I may make a barnyard analogy,.....naaaa, I don't even want to go there.
