Does anybody trust Google & their management

of YouTube anymore? I don't.

We have liberal sites to upload liberal textual content.

Why should we trust Google to properly manage liberal video content and accounts?

They've already linked our YouTube accounts to our Gmail identities.

This allows advertisers to track us on both websites now.

Now they won't let you leave comments on YouTube videos unless you agree to a Google Plus mirror page.

What more encroachment do we have to see to realize we need a liberal run site just for liberal video content?

I have ceased commenting on YouTube, switched over to DuckDuckGo.com for the majority of my searches and am on the lookout for alternatives to Gmail.

Ultimately, it would be great to be able to link to TYT or David Pakman videos on DU that were hosted on a strictly run liberal video upload site.

We need to Occupy Video.

with people you don't trust even at a political discussion level? If you can't trust what people are saying there is no point for you or anyone to be here.

Or are you offering a stalwart defense of gullibility on the web?

You're privacy and control over your own contributed content, to good extent, is not threatened when dealing with DU. It is with Google through their relationships with third party companies.

Degrading their service to make money.

But yeah, like I said, there is nothing at stake here (DU). And that's what's good about it, why we are largely free to speak here, an open, more-or-less anonymous forum.

I checked and see you described yourself as an "old hippie" in one thread. You may not agree, that's reason enough for me to trust you, at least at a political discussion level.

But no, you can't have my credit card information.
Not that you'd want or needed it.
