and while I profoundly disagree with McCain, Wallace and Schmidt on so many things, I actually had some respect for them. The grifter on the other hand....well, I honestly didn't think it was possible to loathe her more than I did. What a childish, petty, vile moron. I shudder to think of her in any elected office. Schmidt will have to spend his entire political career atoning for unleashing that beast on us.

and allowing his surrogates to take the crazy demagogue on? That's something I was thinking about this morning. Steve Schmidt is on TV this morning saying, "yep, this horror show was a nasty piece of work and a complete loon" and McCain is on TV pulling the vapors and pretending he can't possibly abide the outrageous attacks on Ms. Crazypants' character.

So, just as during the campaign, we have McCain afraid to ever engage the reality of Palin, but more than happy to let his surrogates acknowledge, speak on, and confront that reality.

Seemed like a interesting continuation of a campaign dynamic.
