(15,438 posts)full grown pigeon! I was shocked. He seemed upset (or he was just bored) that pigeons were taking all the food people were tossing his way so he just scooped up a full grown pigeon and downed it.

(15,438 posts)I agree: it's really creepy how this giant bird can scoop up full-grown birds and swallow them whole that way.

(26,603 posts)they opened wide - that the lower beak would drop out of sight - but that bird has 'eyes on the prize' all the way. Pretty cool!
And birds are creepy in some ways - I remember the first time I saw an egret gulping down a rat. As Xema pointed out, pure dinosaur...
