Did anyone watch the HBO movie "Game Change"

I tried to feel sorry for Sarah Palin but I just couldn't. How she ever became Governor of Alaska is even beyond me. And what scares the hell out of me the most is she was running for Vice President of the United States!

AT least now I have a understanding of why so many in the tea party are complete fucking idiots!

And I think most of that was because voters were legitimately afraid of the possibility of President Palin.

Kind of eye-opening at how far "political theater" plays out, in spite of incompetent actors.

It would of been a once in a lifetime gift to be the govenor of that beautiful state....Palin just tossed it aside like junk mail. Her scope of vision and insightful wisdom gene was absent.

absolutely EMPTY, except for one trait - using others to make your way through the world (which is necessary because you are EMPTY and, hence, clueless) manipulative, absolutely expert on attracting, what is to the BPD'd person, human fodder to be used and cast aside whenever it serves his/her purposes, cast aside horribly confused by what had LOOKED like very much personal affection but actually turned out to be bait to attract resources for the disordered person's own self-centered objectives.

A key point in the Borderline Personality Disordered individual is that they are sooooooooooo EMPTY that they will do and/or
say a - n - y- t - h - i - n - g in the service of short-term goals because they have little or nothing in terms of what we call personality to regulate and integrate, no matter how imperfectly, behaviors and values. This explains how it is possible for Palin to carry the economic messages of Project for a New American Century/American Exceptionalist WAR MONGERS.

You could say that some such people have little or nothing that could be called a personal conscience.

The economic "realities" of which she speaks do not need to be true or even likely in order for her to voice them. They need only serve her fascist purposes. Power for power's sake because such persons themselves are 0s.

Hypothesis: Cultural attitudes about sex may not have recognized her possible use of those kinds of behaviors, or at least implications of the potentials for those kinds of behaviors, wink, wink, for the purposes for which she may have intended them, i.e. perhaps they didn't recognize the coin of her realm, so she was in over her head and had to get out of there, or end up being used, instead of using, which would be anathema to some such persons.

Asking them about the patterns in their own behavior is like asking someone who is color-blind to tell you how they feel about yellow.

Part of the reason she became governor is she campaigned on both republicans and democrats being corrupt and she had integrity. She ran for mayor of Wasilla and for Lt. Governor of Alaska promoting herself as virtuous and "just a mom" who would clean up the usual way of doing things.

BTW, she left Wasilla with a multi million dollar debt to pay for a sports center she wanted built but without the means to pay for it after she lowered taxes.

Julianne Moore was brilliant. I had a good chuckle watching Julianne as Sarah watching Tina Fey due Sarah Palin.

I'm guessing about half of it was a bit exaggerated. Probably the parts showing her close to a mental breakdown and being pissed that they released a statement saying she was 'proud' of Bristol being pregnant. But even if half of it was exaggerated it was still scary to think this woman could have been VP of the USA. Hell it would scare me if she was mayor of a small town.

But what it did show that was very very true is the appeal of Sarah Palin. In a nutshell people didn't love her because she knew foreign affair or constitutional law or what caused the financial breakdown. These people adored her because she appealed to their basic instinct - which is fear. For about a 3rd of the country Sarah will always seem like a rock star because there are people in this country that needs to justify their hatred of things not like them.

Seriously if she is as ignorant as they made her out to be, I'm ashamed of being an American...

I kind of thought the opposite.

He's essentially the comic relief. The cursing and one-liners made him look like a normal person. He's also the voice of reason a couple times in the film as well. I thought it was a rather positive portrayal, actually.

When Mark Salter mentions picking Palin could backfire and destroy McCain's reputation as an honorable man putting his country first.

That, to me, was the worst part about the portrayal of McCain. The fact that he was warned about Palin before he made the final decision - and he went ahead and picked her anyway.
