You Know, I'm OK With Martin Bashir Resigning From MSNBC

I wish he hadn't, but it says something about his personal character and integrity that he stepped down. He may have been truly embarrassed by his comments. He may have felt compromised about continuing as a spokesman for liberal causes after falling into the trap set by the RW idiots who egg on everyone.

Maybe he thought he had lowered his standards to those of the RW.

It's refreshing to see someone take personal responsibility in a REAL way, ie: not issuing a non-apology apology ("I'm sorry if you felt offended') and continuing in his high-paying job like everyone else does these days.

He misspoke, but he also showed a lot of guts to take the noble way out.

I'm a fan of the guy. I don't watch MSNBC, but I have seen clips of his "rants" on you tube, and the guy is a progressive through and through.

The same network who loves to give failing spots to Newt and considers Wolfie Blitzkreig their lead guy.

Sure, they'll give ol Marty another shot.

speak out of turn or misspeak. The RW Conservative talking heads - everyday - say so many offensive things and I never hear of them apologizing, resigning or being fired.

There is a double standard out there.

The thing that really upsets me the most is that Sarah Palin is notching her gun for taking out Bashir.

not a crude person and he probably regretted it. One of his best qualities is that he was always elegant and refined in his way of treating his stories. He fell short of his own standards with Palin and it cost him. I think he will go on and will be fine, tho.

I wouldn't blame him if he left the USA and went back to the UK. We may not be worthy of his talent. He may be able to do better abroad than here. I hope he does. Serves us right for being such assholes. But he has choices, which we don't have. He can go back to a country where he can get universal health care and a decent standrad of living. Why on earth would he want to stay here where he is driven crazy by our crazy politics? He's better off going back to a place where decent people live and insure that other people have a decent life.
