"DU has a lot of links..."

I once had an associate of mine ask me how I was so well-informed. I replied that I read DU. He replied that "yeah, DU has a lot of links."

This told me that not only did DU have a reputation for being accurate, but it also had a reputation for supplying back-up links to support the theories that DUer's had put forth.

Now, there are some links to websites that DUer's would consider "tainted" and never use as reference links. However, someone eventually finds another link that discredits the first link.

The point is that each post BACKS UP their point with a link.

I understand that much of DU is speculation, but you should be able to back up that speculation with a reliable link to a website supporting your point-of-view. If the website link is debatable, then you should re-visit your opinions.

It is possible that you are such a genius that no-one else has considered your opinion. In such a case of brilliance, you should still be able to build your case on existing proofs. Give us a link that we can investigate, don't just give us a theory that you just pulled out of your a$$!

Bottom line, if you are going to make a statement on DU, be prepared to back it up.

Let me repeat that: Bottom line, if you are going to make a statement on DU, be prepared to back it up.

That page does not state when it was last modified so we don't know if apple pie was #1 this year or ten years ago. Please find another source

Those are your words. Ready to back them up, sport? I'll be waiting for links.

In the meantime, if you have time between sermons, maybe you'll go ahead and be prepared to back up the following statements you've made with no proof of your assertion:

You said that the evidence indicates that the NSA isn't spying on any Americans. Please provide a link (be prepared to back it up!)that won't make me laugh out loud.

If you're a progressive, but an impatient progressive who wants change now, you're actually anti-progressive. Your words, not mine. While you're busy owning them, would you mind backing them up?

Greenwald used Miranda for his own sick purposes. Whatcha got there, Dr. Phil?

I'm prepared to post 50 statements you've made that you can't back up because you were pulling them out of your ass. You may want to think about that next time you get in the mood to preach a sermon to everyone at DU.

I agree with Mr. Goldstein about 80% of the time (in his serious, actual persona), and he gives me food for thought about the remaining 20%.
