The attack marked perhaps the grisliest act by a U.S. soldier in the decade-long Afghan war and seemed all but certain to stoke anti-American anger in a crucial battleground as foreign troops start to thin out in the south. Afghan officials said women and children were among those killed in Panjwai district of Kandahar province, the birthplace of the Taliban movement.

2. Have to wonder if this is a result of a "soldier" given the option Prison of Service. We don't hear

about that fact much anymore. BUT remember especially during the Bush administration some people where given that option. Some people that some military officers often said wouldn't have been able to get into the services before. Now I can be wrong and this poor person could have just snapped under the stress but I've been seriously wondering this about certain articles I've read.
