Anyone else remember the "wag the dog" claim when Bill Clinton tried to address the terrorism issue?

Well, yeah, if you lived through it, how could you forget? (I never did figure out how Bush's approval rating rose after he allowed us to be attacked by bin Laden on 9/11. That's when I utterly lost faith in the American people. But sorry, that's a tangent from my point here.)

That's what this nonsense about the Iran nuke deal being a "distraction from ACA" reminds me of. Yeah, like bin Laden and terrorism were just something fabricated by Clinton as a distraction from the Lewinsky scandal. Not like there was any substantive threat, you know? Then we saw how that turned out, didn't we?

Similarly, whatever is going on with Iran can't possibly be anything substantive, because you know, OBAMA F*CKED UP A WEBSITE!!1!

The right-wing just CANNOT have the media looking positively on a Democratic administration's handling of foreign policy.

Unfortunately there's a shitload of gullible people in this country who can be led to think whatever the Faux talking heads tell them to think.

I don't remember the dates but I remember the essence of what happened.

One of many things I remember about 9/11 is mentioning to one of the staff at the client site where I was working, "this is going to be pinned on bin Laden" and the person said "who?" Of course it turns out that person was a conservative who (like Bush) wasn't paying any attention to terrorism because, you know, Monica!

Better than distracting by starting a war.
