I think I just educated a repuke about the ACA

no, not Republican Stepdad, the other one I still speak to.

She posted some crap about the ACA on her Facebook, from a friend of hers who's a small businessman. "Ooooh, Obamacare's killing me blah blah blah." So I told her about SHOP, the Small Business Healthcare Options Program that's part of the ACA.

And instead of biting my head off, she thanked me, called me a doll, and reposted my message! Now you see why I still speak to this one, and R.S., of course.

I'd love to think conversations like this are going on all over facebook and we just don't hear about it.

are way better than Obamacare. Only a egomaniac would name it after himself.

I hear comments like this from republicans all the time. I had one dude saying what a relief it was that he could finally get individual health insurance for his wife who has a pre-existing condition. They are in their 60's and he gets medicare but she's not old enough yet. This is Maryland so we are implementing the ACA in our state.

He was claiming it was private sector efficiency until I showed him the provision in the law that they can no longer deny coverage for pre-existing conditions or stop coverage after reaching a lifetime cap. And how medicare is a single payer system with lower admin costs. Then he started muttering something about how socialism should only be for old people and that no one else deserves it because they are young, stupid, lazy takers.
