How bad is this snow storm headed to East coast going to be?

1. Depends on exactly where and when! Here in Southwestern CT...

they're saying that it'll be all rain and won't start until after dark on Tuesday. Adirondacks, NY north of Albany, Maine, NH, etc. are expecting snow. Weather.com will give you forecasts for any city, including hour by hour.

It looked like the lake effect snow machine was possibly gearing up for SW Michigan.

We had just enough on the ground to make ignoring it a liability.

5. No question that it's likely to get messy, particularly after Tuesday late in the day....

My brother is traveling to western PA from Virginia, and they're expecting half a foot or better, so I know he was planning to leave earlier than he'd originally scheduled. My mom is visiting me from Boston, and will be arriving early afternoon tomorrow, just to be on the safe side.

Apps and Weather.com can help anyone track their entire route, and plan accordingly. Just glad I don't have to travel this year, even though I'll be cooking (and cleaning!) non-stop for the next five days!

3. We aren't expected to get

Anything but rain in NJ. Now my mom (Western NY) is going to get lake effect snow. I think if you start at Syracuse and draw a line down the map that's where you will see the worst of it.
