The GOP can just do anything and get away with it can't they?
Buy coke from undercover cops.
Troll for gay adulterous hookups in an airport bathroom.
Both times pleading guilty to their actions in court.
And yet the GOP never resigns anymore no matter how illegal or immoral the transgression.
Weiner tweets his underwear and they call for his resignation on moral grounds.
WTF?!

I really do believe that the GOP scandals were very influential in the GOP rout of 2006, in addition to Iraq and Katrina.

Independents/swing voters tend to be cynical about politicians to begin with, and they don't take too kindly to degeneracy and hypocrisy.
