I have to carry more classes than full-timers do just so I can barely scrape by. Of course, that means I am now working two part-time jobs. I'm spending over $200 every month on gas to commute to one of my jobs. That same job also docks my pay for every holiday, which means Thanksgiving is a 25% cut in next week's pay. I also work mornings and evenings in a split shift and I have absolutely no benefits. I spend about $120 every month on prescriptions and I'm doing without my Advair and Flonase because I can't afford them.
What I do have is $65,000 in student loan debt for the privilege of having earned a Masters degree. I'm also running a month behind on my mortgage from not having had paycheck for a month between summer and fall terms. To top it off, I never know what classes I'll get from one term to the next and whether I'll have enough to keep the lights on. Yeah, Christmas will be slim to nil this year. I plan to get caught up with my tax return.
Sorry for the rant. Just frustrated and angry.
