Santorum: Don't Drop Rush from AFN

Santorum: Don't Drop Rush from AFN

by angelajean

Straight from our favorite conservative website, Newsmax:

“It’s amazing how all these issues tend to get politicized after a while,” said Santorum. “The Armed Services Network is trying to provide entertainment value to the men and women in uniform. Rush Limbaugh is the most popular radio talkshow host in America, no-one’s even close."

Does anyone want to explain to Santorum that this isn't about politics? That it is about sexual harassment? Unless, of course, Santorum would like to admit that the Republican Party is behind all the sexual harassment going on in the military. If he wants to claim that, I'll gladly reconsider that this isn't political.

Does anyone want to explain to Santorum how this isn't about providing a 'popular' radio show... that maybe Rush isn't as popular as everyone thinks he is, that perhaps Rush's numbers don't match what he's advertised?

Does anyone want to explain to Santorum how listening to Rush Limbaugh only fuels those who are inclined to sexist behavior to feel more comfortable to behave in sexist ways? That this wasn't just a three-day rant against a well spoken young women, but decades of sexist attacks?

Does anyone want to explain to Santorum that the majority of women in the military community would rather see the likes of Santorum off the airwaves. Okay, so I don't have numbers to back that one up - only anecdotal evidence (can we say SURVEY, anyone?). But start asking folks and I bet you will find that the vast majority agree with the 3 outspoken female Iraq War Vets who are petitioning the Pentagon to remove this man from military airwaves.

Enough is enough. Sexual harassment is still a major concern to our female service members and the inaction in our military hierarchy is part of the problem. They need persuasion of the kind they understand best, Congressional Inquiry.

You can help the military community today by taking your action - let Senators Levin and McCain know that we expect them to follow through on questioning the DoD about sexual harassment on AFN. Then, please write your own Representative and Senator and let them know what you think.

One thing (of many) that struck me is that people who aren't psychopaths can decipher no rhyme or reason to the psychopath's thinking. They just don't make any sense to regular folks.

At this point, I would say a lot of the (R)s simply decided on a schtick, no matter how bizarre it might seem to normal people, that they believe might lead to Congress or the WH. The plan only makes sense to them.

The total inability of any of the four running for POTUS to connect with "the common man" was also listed as an indicator.

Here is an excerpt, the entire analysis on the link is well worth reading.

""Many psychopaths never go to prison or any other facility," agreed Dr. Hare. "They appear to function reasonably well--as lawyers, doctors, psychiatrists, academics, mercenaries, police officers, cult leaders, military personnel, business people, writers, artists, entertainers, and so fourth--without breaking the law." He continued, "Their intelligence, family background, social skills, and circumstances permit them to construct a facade of normalcy."

"Corrupt and callous politicians, social or career fast climbers, authoritarian leaders, abusing and aggressive persons, etc., are among them" wrote Dr. Renato Sabbatini in his article, The Psychopath's Brain. "A common characteristic," says Dr. Sabbatini, "is that they engage systematically in deception and manipulation of others for personal gain. In fact, many successful and adapted non-violent sociopaths can be found in our society."

Most of these people are not just right in your churches, schools, charitable organizations, and workplaces, but by their very nature, they are likely running them. It is a core trait of the psychopath to place themselves in positions of influence, not for public service, but for power. "The experience of pleasure is not reciprocal for the psychopath," stated Dr. Meloy, "it is available only through sadistic channels of power and control." Achieving power for the sake of having power is the nature of the psychopath. "They love to have power and control over others," agreed Dr. Hare."

when he said the abuse of prisoners was nothing more than frat-style hazing? If so, he should have been removed right then for having a negative effect on discipline and morale.
