I enrolled today after having my enrollment locked at the last step because I hadn't selected a separate dental plan. Thanks to advice from a blogger I found-- Hoofin, I went back and selected a dental plan and that unlocked the last enrollment button.
(I also was stuck previously at the identity verification step, but fixed that by starting over with a new account-- tied to a different email account.)
Let's get those enrollment numbers up DU'ers!

Did you save any money or weren't you insured? Please give us a little history and information.

(27,315 posts)1. Congratulations. I sent mine by mail on Thursday.
MA website was not working properly after three trials, so I downloaded the paper application and mailed it. We'll see how long to will take.

I wish I had a plan that did. I'm in medicare and unless I chose the "advantage plan" it won't be included. But step by step and congratulations! Being insured is a real relief.

Thanks.

(177 posts)5. Sure! That section that explains the plan happens to be down.... so I went to Humana's website and
apparently they don't list the Smart Choice Humana Plan. But here's what I can tell you:
$100 deductible
$17.20/mo premium
cleanings covered every 6 months
There's plenty of dentists on the plan in my area.
I wish I knew more. I will post when I do. My thoughts are that the coverage can't be spectacular (covering crowns, bridges, and so forth) because $17.20 is way too cheap to cover that stuff. But for $17.20, I figured why not!

Inquisitive minds want to know.

(177 posts)6. Sorry, I had disappeared to post my success other places.
I figured the world should know.... before they go postponing the law.
Anyway, I am ago 57 and living in Florida. I'm saving plenty of money.... I can't even monetize it because I was un-insurable due to my medical history. Two years ago my health insurance carrier said they wanted to change my plan to something cheaper that covered the same things. I agreed and they gave me a $750/mo plan that had a $10,000 deductible. I went to the doctor a lot and noticed they never had to pay out.... All I was getting was a negotiated rate. I never could hit the $10,000 deductible because a lot of things just aren't covered.
I asked if I could go back to my old plan and they said "No" so I cancelled the policy. I've gotten the same negotiated rate by simply asking for the non-insured rate.
My new plan costs $723.00 a month. The rate would be even lower if Florida Gov. Rick Scott hadn't signed a law in May that prevents the Florida Insurance Commissioner McCarty from challenging high rates from insurers. He's banned from operating in the consumer's interest.
