David Gregory Compares 'Obamacare' Rollout to the Iraq War
This is why we can't have nice things... because people like this useless hack are actually allowed to have a supposed "news" show on national television. Apparently the disgusting Katrina comparisons weren't quite enough for David Gregory, so he had to up the ante a little:
David Gregory Makes a Fool Of Himself Comparing the ACA Rollout to Bushs Iraq War:

There is a difference criticizing the problems with the rollout, that is one thing, comparing it to wars and deaths, is bordering on hatred against the president

For Iraq, just US Soldier deaths more than double that, plus tens of thousands wounded. For Iraqi civilian deaths the lowest estimates are well over 100,000.

(27,315 posts)Otherwise, there are a lot of points in common. The administration refused to accept the notion that their system, without a public option, would lead them to problems. They claimed repeatedly that that people could keep their plans, even if it was patently absurd (the insurance market does not work like that anyway, independently of ACA). They claimed that people would be able to keep their doctors, even if it is also patently absurd. When you change insurance (and even if you do not), you are not insured that your medical team will still be on the list the next year.
After these absurd claims were proven false, all sorts of explanations were given (not necessarily false, but too late) before the White House started to acknowledge that, yes, they should have not said that (difficult to deny something that was on video everywhere at multiple times, and that was still on the White House website a few days ago (not sure if it is still there today).
When apologizing, the president claimed that they did not realize that it was difficult to buy insurance on the private market (really. They should have asked to people who knew). Really?
Of course, we still are at the beginning and it may not turn out to be the mess than Iraq continued to be (and still is), and obviously, nobody died from ACA's mess, but there are a lot of similarities in the way criticisms were accepted and the project was led to implementation.
Other point: DO NOT USE PELOSI AS SURROGATE. SHE SUCKS.

(117 posts)Is there anyway we can start a petition to have NBC fire this fool? He is just way too partisan. I can think of several really good NBC reporters or contributors who would be more fair and impartial.
