120 years late, Glenn Beck finds out the Pledge was written by a socialist, and he is mad

In Glenn Beck's world, everything is black or white; or more accurately, things are either "constitutional" or "progressive," with the latter category consisting of everything in the world that Beck randomly decides doesn't fit into his amorphous and constantly evolving personal political philosophy.

The result is that his listeners are frequently treated to long pseudo-historical monologues in which Beck attempts to cram history into the categories that he has constructed so that everything from the Star Spangled Banner to the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag are all "progressive" trappings while declaring that the "progressives" in the Republican party are the modern-day ancestors of the fascists.

Oh wait, it's just another two minutes of hate against Progressives because you either agree with him or you must be a Reptilian... er, I mean Progressive, so he hasn't realized that particular fact yet.

Step 2- follow me out of the wilderness!
Step 3- declare victory due to righteousness/manliness/never been wrong

That is the RW talk radio playbook

or the Ten Commandments or something like that. I'm pretty sure it came directly from the Almighty! Seriously, it always makes me uncomfortable when people act like the Pledge or the Star Spangled Banner is some kind of religious experience. What WOULD the founding fathers think?

of a long Glenn Beck rant blaming you personally for every imaginary evil in the world. I lost mine when my old computer crashed. If anyone knows where that site is, if it still exists, I'd love to make another copy.

I sneaked on his website one time and wrote a pro-Obama post. Somehow it stayed up around an hour or so before discovery and deletion. But then I started to get vicious emails from him that didn't stop until I threatened legal action.
