Like it or not *somebody* is going to have to run against Hillary in the 2016 primary.


The next couple of years is the time we decide who that will be. Do we want the dais to be full of DLC/GOP lite types or do we want to have progressive voices heard by challenging Hillary from the Left?

Also, we're not just electing a President in 2016, we're also electing a VEEP and selecting the person who will be picking cabinet secretaries, etc etc. Many of these higher offices are picked from the pool of primary candidates.

So while a Hillary win may be inevitable, a robustly progressive primary field may net us with Warren or Grayson as VP and presiding over the Senate, or in a cabinet post where progressive voices are badly needed.

The net result of a primary field that leans heavily to the "New Democrat / DLC" end of the spectrum will get us more of the status quo.
