WHO will President Obama endorse for President in 2016?

In my decidedly shallow way of thinking, he'd HAVE to support Vice-President Joe Biden. How could he not?

To do otherwise would be tacit admission that he put a person "ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY FROM THE PRESIDENCY" who didn't deserve to be there. It would lead people to believe his "Number Two" wasn't his choice.

For five years, President Obama has told the Citizens of the United States that Joe Biden is the BEST MAN FOR THE JOB... other than Barack Obama himself. That's pretty much the best endorsement any future candidate could hope for, don'tcha think?

If he endorses Hillary, the obvious question is... IF She's the best choice now, WHY wasn't she the BEST choice to place ONE HEARTBEAT AWAY?

Oooh. Glad I don't have to step into THAT breech....

We really only have two cases in the last fifty years where a two-term president's VP ran for president.

Reagan didn't endorse Bush until May 1988. Clinton endorsed Gore in December 1999.

Going back a little further, I found this about Eisenhower and Nixon: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedailymirror/2010/01/eisenhower-demurs-on-endorsing-nixon.html

He won't endorse anyone before the nominee is decided.

As for Biden, he's a good man but won't be the nominee. The party will not choose a 74 year old man as their nominee in 2016.
