today the preservationists are finding out that quality glass plates are the perfect media for digital copying and colorizing..

now if someone can cheaply restore the tintypes i have...

it's amazing how the detail all of a sudden becomes visible because the gray somehow dulled the picture...Walt Whitman's eyes are so beautiful...
the hindenburg and the man self emmolating are breathtaking - fire doesn't show up so well in B/W, and I never realized the monks robes would have been saffron, wow..

I even showed this to my kids, they know of Anne Frank and my son just did a big report on Abe Lincoln...they were wowed too
