"Sunup down by the old mill. And bring your second." . . .Please come CAPTION Rand Paul!!!

Rand Paul is saying: "I don't care about any stinking law about dueling; it's just that I can't hold office if I duel, and I don't want to deprive my constituents of my stellular representation. . . . That's too cruel to contemplate. . . . Otherwise I'd shoot down these lying cowards like the cry babies they are, hiding behind law and the proprieties of modern society! . . . Geez."

The above CAPTION is based on Paul's express desire to duel those who exposed his plagiarism. Maddow, as always, is great on this in the following Huffington Post story:

Well, . . . I don't hold any professors up to a senator's standards, and I don't know why a senator should be held up to an academic's standard. . . . Answer me that, scribblers."

9. Can't hold office if you duel?

Didn't stop Andrew Jackson, or Aaron Burr (it did stop Alexander Hamilton, though). Or is this a Kentucky thing?

ETA: a quick check of Wikipedia claims one can't hold state office in Kentucky if one has participated in a duel, but US senator isn't a state office, so Rand Paul's should be fine if he has his duel elsewhere.
