Hana Grace-Rose Williams died in May 2011 she died of starvation and hypothermia after having been beaten by her adoptive parents, Carri and Larry Williams, in accordance with behaviours touted by Daniel and Debbi Pearl in the vile book "To Train Up a Child." Hana and her brother Immanuel were adopted from Ethiopia and subjected to treatment designed to break them like the Amish break stubborn mules. It was a process these unnatural parents had practised with their biological children since birth.
Immanuel told that both of the adopted children were beaten with belts, sticks and quarter inch plumbing tube (as recommended by the Pearls); the biological children were encouraged to join in with these sick endeavours. Both adopted children were starved for days at a time, and sometimes given wet sandwiches, or vegetables still frozen. They were made to sleep in closets and barns.
Last week these monstrous parents were sentenced by the Judge Susan Cook after listening to a plea in mitigation from the couple's pastor, Richard Long. Pastor Long is quoted as saying "I have known Larry and Carri to be loving parents with the ability to raise children appropriately, I also firmly believe they have the ability to be healthy, contributing members of society."
Luckily Judge Cook ignored this and sentenced Carri and Larry to 28 years and 37 years adding These two children who had already endured the loss of their parents in Ethiopia were brought to this country by the defendants for a better life, but hey fell into a black hole. At the bottom of that hole they did not find the land of milk and honey. They found the land of frozen vegetables and water soaked sandwiches. and also "... What I see is one child dead, one child with PTSD, and seven biological children who apparently believe that degrading and dehumanizing another person is completely acceptable.
Personally I cannot comment further, the loathing I feel towards the parents and their enablers is too much

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. The Georgia Department of Children and Family Services won't talk about its investigations or involvement in allegations of abuse involving a 10-year-old Gwinnett County girl.
On Saturday, Emani Moss' body was found starved to death and burned in a trash can.
Her father and stepmother have been charged with murder and child cruelty.
"It appears the victim was emaciated," said Gwinnett County Police Detective Collin Flynn.

I know liberals who homeschool their children for the most idealistic of reasons -- they want to set them free. But when the religious fundies do it, it's mostly about their need for control -- and the children always suffer.
We took a formerly home-schooled young woman, internationally adopted by "Christian" parents -- into our home a year and a half ago. She's gotten her GED and is halfway through her associates degree. I'm so proud of her -- but I hate her parents. They're not murderous, but they're bad enough. There are people who will try to kill your body, and others who will try to kill your soul -- and never of them should be anywhere near children.
