That one goes into the collection!

Very cool.
I didn't know about the High Speed Rail in Bogota, Colombia.
While checking it out, I found this about their Metro Bus System!!!

Urban planners know a secret that you probably don't: The world's most advanced bus system is in Bogota, of all places. The city' ex-mayor, who created the system, is frequently asked to explain Bogota's bus system to city officials hoping to emulate their best practices at home. As GOOD reports:

"It's hard to believe until you've seen it for yourself, but the city bus can, in fact, be a sleek, fast, efficient, and first-class way to get around town. Unfortunately, you can't find that kind of bus service in any U.S. city. You've got to travel down to Bogotá, Colombia, and ride the TransMilenio bus-rapid-transit system."

"As you step aboard your first TransMilenio vehicle, it hits you pretty quickly: When it comes to buses, the United States is a Third World nation."

NICE!

Am I allowed to sit next to any drug lord or DEA agent (kind of the same thing) I choose?

Yeah, I made a joke but the idea is exactly right. I wish my city wasn't fighting light rail with all it has and slashing our public transportation all around.

Say what you want about Jesse,
but the people of the Twin Cities have something useful to show for their money.
It sure beats Bailouts for Billionaires.

have declared they would NEVER ride public transportation. And that's not those who live where there isn't any, but those who won't even consider it no matter where they live.

When next I move, it will be to a place with good public transportation. Santa Fe is nice, but not very good bus service.

I'm seriously considering Portland, OR. It will be several years before I move.

It's wonderful. By 2016 it will reach from Golden to DIA. It's a wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles, but it happened it Denver, Colorado, and, believe me, we have plenty of anti government fools around.
I live far outside of Denver, but still own a small flat there and enjoy the progress of that great city.

Meanwhile, here, IndyGo recently bought some used buses from Columbus OH, for crying out loud. They didn't even bother to take out the Columbus ad cards.
