that food stamps and other subsidies are necessary to keep those on the left from starving.

Many programs are band aids on an issue Americans refuse to face and that is, each other. There's always been a segment of the population that have benefited off impoverishing others.

It ain't the evil old government the rich blame causing this foolishness. The people created these programs have done so to snag dollars from the oligarchs who while at times provide us* with good things, also enrich themselves.

If Americans would stop hating on each other, it wouldn't be necessary to tap dance around these guys who have taken us down this road.

Too many of us* have thought we were too good to land up in the same boat as those who need the assistance. So they vote for the oligarchs.

They take those much deserved ( ) tax breaks and create jobs. They create jobs in Honduras, the Philippines, and India. Thanks to the tax breaks made affordable by cutting food stamps, a family in Mexico can have a better life.

especially for "just a mom" and doubly for "just a single mom".

Forget being a Christian or Civilized Nation...we're not even equivalent to the Godless Socialist or Banana Republic nations that are scorned ... in the care of our young, elderly, ill and poor.

Instead, we sanctimoniously brandish our shiny, new weapons as we lecture/police the rest of the world. Because, that's the trade-off.

For shame.

Handouts to the poor are attempts to upset the divine order of Earthly wealth concentration.

It's the Devil's work.

we should give them more money in spite of having record high cash balances that they are not investing or hiring more workers. What's really keeping these efficient private sector companies from hiring is the national debt and food stamps.

And I really do have Republican associates who think if you cut off food stamps, there will be more jobs. No joke.
