I was thinking of maybe a "New Rule" ( like Bill Maher)

The following is not entirely an original thought but seems fair...

Congress persons shall be elected with 2 (Two) people for each office.
Ex: A Senator and a Vice-Senator
The Vice-Senator will perform some duties but will NOT be allowed to vote on bills etc.

If a Senator votes to enact war, and the total votes ensures that the act of war will come into being, he/she will serve in that war as an Infantry Soldier.
The Vice-Senator will be promoted to Full Senator until the original Senator returns...unless the original Bites the dust, meets Dr. Death, goes to The Big Sleep or whatever.
A Congress person who votes against the war will be allowed to see their fellow congress persons board the plane headed for "The Hell Zone"

2. sorry to be a killjoy, but this is one of those amusing yet pointless fantasies

a moment's reflection and i'm sure you can figure out why this would never happen and it would probably work out terribly in practice.

3. Oh..I'm quite aware of that. I tend to live half the time in fantasy Land anyway.

I didn't seriously think anything will change.
I'm always torn between great friends here and only 2 or 3 in Australia.
