Home ownership is causing unemployment??? What a crock....

http://www.nbcnews.com/business/high-unemployment-blame-high-home-ownership-study-says-8C11511682
"High levels of home ownership are strongly linked to subsequent rises in unemployment because labor mobility becomes reduced, according to new research.

Using data going back to 1950 across all U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii, Warwick University economics professor Andrew Oswald finds that the lag from ownership levels to unemployment rates can take up to five years to show up.

But he said the linkage, established using data on millions of randomly sampled Americans, was extraordinarily robust.

Doubling home ownership in a state can lead to more than a doubling of the jobless rate."

If this were the case, wouldn't that mean that there were unfilled jobs all over the place that people just could not take because
they could not get to them?????

Seems to me the desire of those promoting this stuff is to see that average Joes can never have the security of retiring in a home
that is paid for, instead, they should be subjected to increasing rent increases forever on a fixed income. Can't have any wealth
not floating to the top!

On Edit: And since home ownership rates have drastically declined as a consequence of all the foreclosures, then shouldn't unemployment be improving as a result?
