It true, Texas is discriminating against women

My sister just moved back to Texas after living in Rhode Island for over 20 years. She went to get her Texas Drivers license. The clerk said her name on her RI drivers license did match her birth certificate or social security card. She said she had been married and divorced. The clerk said she'd had to provide a copy of her divorce. This happened over 30 years ago and she does not have the divorce decree any more.

A current Rhode Island DL is not good enough for Texas, just another way to keep women from proper identification and make it harder to vote.

Texas takes the position that an official state issued birth certificate is the best way to prevent non-citizens from getting Driver's licenses and maybe voting. This program is stupid but the tea party is in control of Texas and they want to pick on people who may not be citizens

my sister was born at St. Paul's Hospital and has a certified copy of her birth certificate which she took with her to the Dept of public safety. I know that because she had to get it to get a pass port a few years back when she went to Europe. The Texas birth certificate was not good enough. Also she is white, that is not good enough either.

I guess her problem was that she dared leave Texas and go live with the Yankees for so many years.
