Politics.
Pure and simple. They will continue to use it as a political issue right up thru the next election.
I suppose the voters will have to kick their asses one more time??

Would love to see Dems pick up seats in the Senate, and get back control of the House. Then, I'd like to see them remember how awful the GOP and Tea Baggers have been the last few years, and tell them to go take a hike!
I'd also like to see Dems get back control of some states where the GOP has been abusive to its citizens. If they aren't going to work to make things better, they should be such a small part of government what they think and say doesn't matter to anyone.
They deserve no less, they've worked hard to earn that ass kicking!

(111,095 posts)Do away with the Senate filibuster for a two-year period, because it has been impossible to govern when one Party decides to block everything and not help anything. It would be temporary and out of necessity. Then it would sunset at the next election.

(16,993 posts)There's been no good reason not to. I don't doubt for a second that the GOP would have done it if the shoe were on the other foot.
They're wasting time, wasting money, blocking nominees for no reason other than to make the black man in the White House look bad. And while they're at it, they're hurting much of America.

(59 posts)the opposition to the ACA was just a show. They want to be able to look at voters in a year and 3 years and say "Hey we tried our hearts out" but those darn Dems shoved Obamacare down your throat.
Which is why... the ACA needs to be a fantastic success.

(58,656 posts)that point out how many people were enrolled in ACA in states like WA, CA, NY, KY, etc. Emphasize that these people are buying private insurance that covers them for medical problems that all people face.
Then simply ask, "Why did your state legislature and governor refuse to do the same?"
