This is a question posed to Sec. Sebellius at the sham of a congressional hearing this morning.
Who was that Republican Rep.? I didn't get her name, and i want to create a meme for her.
The hearing was one of the worst displays of vindictiveness I have ever seen in such a setting. It replays tonight on C-SPAM at 8pm ET.

http://thinkprogress.org/health/2013/10/22/2815961/cnn-anchor-slams-gop-rep-rooting-obamacares-failure/
CAROL COSTELLO (HOST): Was the governor joshing us? Is he not telling the truth?
ELLMERS: Im not exactly sure it is working in Kentucky ..
COSTELLO: So the governor when he says hes signing up 1,000 people a day and wants to get the 640,000 people in Kentucky insured, hes just saying that for political purposes?
ELLMERS: Well, you know, lets look again at the grand scheme of things. It is a failure at monumental levels. [...]
COSTELLO: But youre discounting everything that the Kentucky governor is saying. Instead of sitting down with him and saying, governor, lets talk and figure this out together. Lets figure out whats political in what youre saying. Youre discounting what he has to say outright.
Unable to directly respond to Kentuckys enrollment numbers, Ellmers confronted Costello, saying, youre getting awfully angry about this situation!

Renee Ellmers (NC) http://ellmers.house.gov/ Ironically, her site is down for maintenance!
All three have ACA opposition on their government home page. Blackburn even has a YouTube:
Blackburn has an accent and a squeaky voice. So, I think it wasn't her.

(3,557 posts)When you say someone delivered a baby you are insinuating that they did the work. Well, the person who does the work (i.e. the delivering) is the woman giving birth. The doctors and/or anyone else present just catches the baby.
As an aside, I had the fortune of catching my first born daughter. It was quite the experience.
HockeyMom
(14,337 posts)I could not have delivered her alone. My male doctor had to reach in and get her head out. That was 34 years ago. Today the majority of breech babies would be "delivered" via C-Section by a DOCTOR (male or female). The mothers would not be doing the surgery themselves.

Given the witch burning nature of the hearing, Sec. Sebillius sure stayed cool.

(26,109 posts)of delivery are *not* medical care. Fuck them sideways. I don't give a damn if a man is involved in any stage of the above...has nothing to do with the fact that women are people who need medical care during this time of their lives.

These right-wingers are largely anti-choice, but when it comes to paying for maternity costs, suddenly it's, "But it's the woman's body, why should the rest of us be involved!?"
