A GOP Convention in Vegas? What Could Go Wrong?

Roll Call:

Please, please, please make this happen: the Nevada Host Committee’s effort to bring the 2016 Republican National Convention to Las Vegas.

The group, which trumpets the involvement of Nevada Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki as its figurehead, wants to lure Republicans from across the land to Sin City to nominate the party’s presidential standard-bearer in the next election.

...snip...

They have a point, noting that Vegas hosted more than 21,000 conventions last year and has almost 150,000 hotel rooms. For those of us who have suffered through Charlotte, N.C.; Tampa, Fla.; St. Paul, Minn.; and Denver, the thought of not having to drive 50 miles from a hotel to the convention site is quite appealing.

And, for journalists, at least, what could possibly go wrong when you have public officials that close to gambling, 24-hour drinking opportunities and, ahem, adult entertainment, complete with ready-to-go wedding chapels?

Waiters, waitresses, and cab drivers, on the other hand, will be pretty much screwed.

Seems like the perfect place for the "family values" party to hold their convention.

8. Yeah, but it's legal in Nevada, so he'd just blubber something about Satan . . .

The Lil' Woman would stand next to him on the platform, and mutter something about "forgiveness" and "counseling" and "pastor", and then on to the next election cycle!

IOKIYAR, y'know.

which is where Las Vegas is located, the nearest legal brothel is in Nye County, just on the outskirts of the little town of Pahrump.
Brothels are also banned in Washoe County.

If you put a whole bunch of Republican men in a town like Las Vegas and had to make a bet on whether it would happen I think pretty much everyone would take that bet.
