I listened to an interview with Alan Grayson the other day on Mark Thompson's show...

and sat there mesmerized at how informed he is. It's as if he takes the best parts of DU and translates it coherently.

He absolutely speaks for me and my brand of Progressive politics. I love how he sticks the needle in the Right Wingers/Tea Baggers and I love how they respond. He calls it the indignation factory.

Alan Grayson speaks for me--- he is exactly how I am politically---exactly.

4. One Of The Very Few

GOOD GUYS coming out of Florida. So glad he won his seat back. NOW, Rick Scott must goooooo! Can't believe what's happened to this state since I moved here! Insurance rates are about to kill me & heard flood insurance is really going to go through the roof next year.

CITIZENS Insurance has become a monopoly for so many here & it SUCKS! Notices all the time about how coverage is going to be less, but premiums go up! Just posting makes my blood pressure rise.

6. Citizens is the only one in Florida

because all others pulled out after Florida was hit by 4 Hurricanes in one year. The amount of fraudulent claims filed made them say to hell with this state.
I think Citizens only stays here because they're under court order or something.

As for Grayson, I love that guy!

16. Insurance Companies Started Running For Cover

right after Hurricane Andrew. I lived here back then. I do recall the FIVE hurricanes that came through Florida not so long ago, but I was still able to get insurance through others companies a year ago. Now, there are very few insurance companies here, but Citizens is the STATE'S insurance and even those of us who were able to buy cheaper insurance have no choice. And Citizen's costs me more with less coverage. I can't give you the exact reason WHY it's mostly Citizens now, but as I said I was able to get other insurance recently.

We haven't had a hurricane in some time, don't like saying it out loud, but I personally believe that Citizen's has gotten assurances that come directly out of Tallahassee. After all it was Rick Scott who took the 5th on 5 felony counts because od his dealings with HCA.

Anyway, it's just my personal feeling that there's more to it than Citizen's being noble. They aren't! I got my notice of less coverage through my policy, but no lower cost. Was told to contact my insurer to pay extra or keep what I have.

Alan Grayson is awesome. His self assuredness about what he speaks rivals my late hero Frank Zappa. Frank didn't take no crap and I pity the fool that ever took him on in a fair debate. Alan is of the same stuff. Plus they're both masters of the art of the sound bite.
