Bill Maher said he thinks Ted Cruz could win the Republican

nomination because the last time around Republicans tested anyone other than Romney (Bachman, Santorum, Perry, Gingrich, Cain) but couldn't find anyone who wasn't wacky. So they went with the non base candidate in Romney. And Cruz went to Harvard Law so he's not a flake. He doesn't think Chris Christie won't appeal to the base voters because he's been lucid a few times over the years and the GOP base hates that. How can Cruz be stopped?

Maher was on Piers Morgan tonight when he said it.
