People will gladly pay more for cable TV than health insurance!

So many of them are complaining about costs of health insurance on the exchange yet the same people will pay more for cable TV!, internet and phone. I guess it's something to do with priorities?

maybe that's because you don't have premiums and co-pays with cable. liberal_at_heart Oct 2013 #4

That sounds a lot like the people who complain about welfare recipients having iphones. JVS Oct 2013 #6

about not having health insurance - I can totally see some not wanting to cut one of those items for health care. Especially Millenniums males over 26 who don't much think about health insurance. Does the ACA sell catastrophic policies for the kids?

I spend $925/month on health insurance premiums and then I get to pay the 20% in co-pays that my insurance company doesn't want to pay. I can't afford the co-pays of course. They all go to collections. Even with ACA I would still be paying $550/month plush the 20% in co-pays my insurance company doesn't want to pay. Damn right I'd rather pay for cable than health care.

And the only reason I have internet is because I barter my services for a wifi connection.

Even if I had insurance there's nothing left for copays so I wouldn't be making use of it anyway.

if people added up what they pay a month on discretionary bullshit vs. what they might have to pay to--GASP--preserve their health!

why stop with Health? Let's make everything insurable and mandatory.

Guns! Already proposed. How about Pets? If you own a pet and he/she gets sick surely it affects us all if something horrible happens and the owner grieves. Mandatory Pet insurance! And bike riders are not mandated to have insurance yet. Why not? They end up costing us all more with their silly habit. Mandatory Bike Insurance!!

Now that Insurance is a Buy Partisan thing nothing can stop it!

Buy Stock!

(Wouldn't it have been great if the Democrats in power had concentrated on jobs before passing a law that requires purchasing something? It's never even discussed anymore. The jobs are gone.)

Meet the New America: 29 hour work week at Target/Walmart/Mcdonalds or, if you're really lucky, you can sell insurance. After all, it's MANDATORY!!
