Are you really serious - Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah hahahahah

http://www.salon.com/2013/10/29/dem_congressman_to_goper_at_obamacare_hearing_are_you_really_serious/
<snip>

And during Tuesday’s hearing on Obamacare, that’s just what he did. First Pascrell pointed his finger at Republicans for their unwillingness to cooperate with the implementation of Obamacare, contrasting the GOP’s behavior over the past three years with that of the Democratic Party in the years following the passage of George W. Bush’s Medicare Part D.

“What did we do [after Medicare Part D passed]? We went back to our districts, and we told our seniors that although we voted no, we personally believe, and will work with the Bush administration, to make it work. That’s what we did!”

Pascrell then stood up and yelled at the Republican members of Congress attending the hearing, “And how many of you stood up to do that? None! Zero! Zero!”

Later in Pascrell’s harangue, the New Jersy congressman asked Republicans what they would say to those with preexisting conditions in the event that Obamacare was repealed. “What are you going to do about the approximately 17 million children with preexisting conditions who can no longer be denied health insurance coverage?” Pascrell said. “We want to go back and want to say you are no longer covered any longer — are you going to tell the parents of those kids?”

Most people like a strong person and nothing says strong more than standing up for what you believe in.
I hope this is the new Democratic party we're starting to see here.

for a long long time now. If we'd just get out front with the truth and stand up to them there is no way that the pukies could win any elections.

I'm loving our new found spine in the Democratic party

That you and I and others here at DU have simply wanted what is happening now.
Not purity. Not success even.
But conviction. Just simple conviction by a few Democrats.

And, oh, the abuse so many here at DU have undergone just for wanting that simple thing.

All the Dems should be calling them on the ridiculous behavior that they have been indulging in. And since there are so many instances where they can be chided, this could go on and on. I don't know what the GOPers are able to say in answer to these charges. Except maybe "uh".

this is also a moment in time when you can look at some things Democrats did, or didn't do, that, strategically, give them an upper hand about the issue of partisanship vs. citizenship.

I hope Democrats will continue to emphasize how they have been willing to work with Republicans, and how Republicans always move the goalposts, like others with poor sportsmanship or bullying temperaments.... or they try to pull a Lucy and want the Democrats to be Charlie Brown.

Why do people keep electing representatives that try to hurt them and their families?

That's what I will never understand.

...no more Mr Nice Guy. Hallelujah! They seem to be passing around that old bottle of Geritol, and their spines are straightening. They are wiping their eyes and sticking their fingers in their ears with a vigorous shake, as if they can't believe what they are seeing and hearing. One by one, they are standing up to the pure insanity and insensitivity that has overcome the Republican Party. Pretty soon, I expect to hear those famous words "Have you no decency, Sir???"

Please share with family & friends and all the repubs you know. That's the only way they will ever get a chance to see it in the faux bubble. If Democrats did this all the time, they wouldn't have to run for reelection because we would know their names, know their positions and knew they stood up for them.

The GOP's goal is to take away people's health insurance. It's as simple as that.
