Why doesn't the government subsidize the folks that had their insurance "canceled"?

Since they were told they could keep their present plans, even though they are mostly crap with huge deductibles, they could pass an amendment to subsidize the insurance companies for whatever extra it costs them to offer what is required by the new law? Or they could subsidize it to the policy holders and they could then give it to the insurance companies?

Should the maternity rider be amended to not include everyone? That would be a reasonable compromise, in my opinion.

The President has stated that he is open to all ideas on how to fix or improve the ACA law. Republicans can continue to fight the law or they can agree to work with Democrats to make it better. That is their choice.

They wanted a healthcare system that worked within the marketplace. They got one.
