Who should control our platform for 2016? the rank-and-file, or just the nominee?

Corollary question, how much open debate do you think we should have on the platform? Is it, in your view a good thing or a bad thing that we really haven't had much freedom for the convention to debate the platform recently, that the convention, essentially has basically been nothing but a bland, passionless "optics show"?

Is it time to bring some democracy back to the Democratic Party, and to make issues actually matter again?

Obviously it's a tug of war - we select a candidate who is going to represent out views - but we try and select a good person which means they will probably have a few ideas of their own.

This platform -- this philosophy -- must result from the Party at the smallest level up. A party is NOT a personalistic one-person election apparatus.
