Would anyone complain about a tax-funded single-payer healthcare system that covered pregnancy,

which had men paying the same tax rate as women?

If not, then nobody should complain about the ACA covering pregnancy without making women pay more. Many of us hope that the ACA is a step towards single payer and we want it to resemble such a system as much as possible.

I would not . . . but rest assured - there would be people in this country that would resent it.

I'm with you though and have always believed that all the ACA is - is a good start. Hence why it can't just be 'repealed'. It's where we start at on our way to single payer.

about religious corporations complaining about insurance paying for birth control. Of course to be honest I have ignored those threads, so I probably don't get the problem people are having with it. I'm well past the child bearing age and it never bothered me that my insurance when I had it covered that.

With all it's faults it beats the fuck out of the republican plan, HADAM.

taxes for stuff we approve of? The fallacy has been repeated so often for so long now, that it has spread across the divide and is making inroads into the ever-shrinking land of sanity.

The so-called conservative mind is one very simple, fucking scary place and they want to force everybody to live in the hell-on-earth it is creating.

How in 2010, we acknowledged that the law was not perfect, but we said it was a start. We said literally pass it now, fix it later.

Now, our battlecry has become Fuck you it's fixed, now shut up and love it. Or if you don't love it it's because you're too (stupid, lazy, ignorant, racist, or all of the above) to understand why this is better for you.

Now, where the hell did my Democratic Party go?
