Debbie Wasserman Shultz's hubby wants me to donate to her because the Republicans

are attacking her. You would think he would be thankful for Alan Grayson. Just say'n.

Here is the message:

Imagine sitting down to dinner with your family. The phone rings. You go to pick it up and it's a recorded message attacking your wife with a slew of lies.

During their reckless government shutdown, the Republican National Committee (RNC) decided to run automated phone calls smearing Debbie. When I heard about it, I knew I needed your help to fight back.

As we all know, these calls are just the beginning. When you stand up to the Tea Party Republicans and Ted Cruz, when you fight to protect Obamacare, and when you oppose the Ryan budget and the privatization of Medicare, the Republicans go on the attack because they cannot defend their positions.

These attacks are what make it so important to be prepared. Last year, our opponent spent a whopping $2 million. Debbie came out ahead because supporters like you had her back. She needs that support again.

1. Personally, I'm sick of all the pleas for campaign donations--from ALL of them!

If they don't like the robo calls at dinner, do something about it! I don't like them either, and I believe people should be able to say no to all marketing/solicitation/political/polling, etc. calls. But of course Congress exempts itself from do not call because it's in their best interests.

They spend too much time on money, and not enough time taking care of the people of this country!

My $50.00 doesn't stretch as much as someone else's $50,000, when it comes to getting personal attention.

If campaign donations were really protected by the First Amendment, it's a lot like ripping out a few pages out of a dictionary and telling me that I can only compose speech based on the words on those pages, and then handing a clean copy of a dictionary to the wealthy.

OFA is terrible with this, but others are too. If I do not send money, it is because I cannot, so no need to send me emails saying I did not give anything. I know. Thanks to remind me once more I cannot. This is very helpful

...in the manner that I assume you refer to, which is the electronic tallies.

I know the Head of the Ohio Democratic Party. I know candidates who've won there. I know candidates who've lost there. Nobody alleges that the votes which were cast weren't counted.

Candidates raise money. Big fucking deal. How else are they going to compete? With butcher paper and tempera paints? A megaphone and a soapbox?
