interview kids in regards to violent incidents? Is this supposed to be good for them? CNN is interviewing a child who got shot in the stomach. The other day it is the 16 year old rape victim. I'm all for interviewing their parents but does this help a child recover from something traumatic?

(111,359 posts)We were pretty much forbidden to mention any sort of trauma on the theory that kids would forget all about it if nobody mentioned it.
No wonder we turned to drugs.

(118,816 posts)need to talk about their trauma. And they need to be heard by a village. That all that helps. I'm just not sure the tv is how that should happen.
