I can't believe what I'm seeing getting recs - Mark Dice video, a hearsay political story

So I'm seeing TWO "Harry Reid Told Caucus That Pete Sessions Was Behind Obama Insult, Senators Say" threads on the trending now section, even though those stories are little more than hearsay and both the Speaker of the House and White House Press Secretary deny such an insult ever happened.

And on V&M a Mark Dice video showing people signing a petition for a "police state" has over 15 recs! Never mind how Dice is a nutty Alex Jones type.

Why? What is going on here?

I'm inclined to believe it happened.

Carney, (the mouth piece of Obama and realizing Obama's penchant for downplaying insults to move an agenda along rather than get stuck in a quagmire of finger pointing), would not want to draw attention and never has to these insults. I'm not surprised they won't draw attnetion to these idiots acting like idiots.

Obama has been treated very poorly and it's rubbing off on the RW constituency. They see these acts from their elected officials, and feel they may also repeat it. Hence the empty char hanging from nooses, overt personal insults and name calling on the whole family all over the web. The Reps have defined that the office of a Dem President doesn't garner any respect at all...not even the courtesy of being polite during a disagreement.

**c&p from a previous post**

eta: with Reps demanding a formal apology for even publically suggesting that it may have happened, I imagine that naming names is the logical next step in the public discussion of rude Reps playing politics.

Call 'em whatever. MAKE 'EM DENY IT.

But c'mon. How implausible is it, really? Why are we still trying to be nice?

It started with that joe wilson jerk during the freakin' State of the Union speech yelling "You lie!!!!" out loud. AT the President. DURING the speech. Hell, they can misrepresent whatever they want about what our side did or didn't do during the accursed bush/cheney years, but NOT ONE of us EVER did that. At least our side was always respectful of the office of President. We NEVER acted out like that, or anywhere near in the way these assholes do.

I say OUT WITH IT. I don't care of it was or wasn't pete sessions. Let's have it out there! I hope hell rains down on him ANYWAY. If it wasn't him, maybe the asshole who actually made that shitty statement will start feeling a little destabilization under foot, too. Well - ahem - MAYBE. Yeah, I know...

I don't care what he believes. The video got a chuckle out of me, and I'll be damned if I'm going to deny myself a little amusement because the comedian doesn't pass some kind of ideological litmus test.

I'm sure I speak for many of us when I say we've been dying to know who the bagger was that Durbin was talking about. If you read the article linked in those two stories about Harry Reid and the caucus, you'll know that the author of the story had two Senators as sources, and aides to two more Senators. Technically still hearsay, I suppose, but four sources sounds pretty compelling, especially when put up against Jay Carney, whose interest in minimizing the story is not only obvious, but also consistent with Obama's political style in general. (Lest that be misinterpreted, I'll sum it up by saying Obama's inclined to deny it because he's a class act.)

So it doesn't seem all that freakish to me!
