Allen Stanford has been found guilty of 13 out of 14 counts in one of the biggest financial frauds in U.S. history.

The verdict came on the fourth full day of deliberations following a five-week federal trial in Houston.

Prosecutors accused Stanford of running a Ponzi scheme totaling more than $7 billion.

He faced one count each of conspiracy to commit wire or mail fraud, conspiracy to obstruct a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation, obstruction of a SEC investigation and conspiracy to commit money laundering in addition to five counts of wire fraud and five counts of mail fraud.

The federal jurors found Stanford guilty on 13 of 14 counts he faced. They found Stanford not guilty on one count of wire fraud.
