1. In North Dakota, 1/3 of the natural gas is burned at well heads, heating the atmosphere.

Total wastye, pollution, ands global warming, without capturing the energy at all, just to make a quick buck on the oil.

3. In Ohio where I live we are more in the Utica shale it also produces

more oil and other liquids. Tonight when I came home I could see a well miles away being burned off, the whole west sky was orange.

and Pennsylvania getting a share? In Alaska, everybody gets paid by the oil companies. Appalachia is getting screwed, as usual.

across the road that inherited his grandfathers farm got $500,000 for a 5 year lease
with a 17% royalty. They are also building a pipe line through his property and he will get so much per foot I hear. Myself I only have a little over an acre so I got almost $6000 and 17% royalty. One poor sparsely populated local county that may have had a handful of millionaires gained 42 new ones last year. As far as the people as a whole I don't know, there has been talk of taxing the drillers but don't know if they have yet. Of course the drillers will fight it tooth and nail.
