There are widespread calls for Alan Grayson to apologize for telling the truth...

While I listen to people demanding an apology from Grayson however, I am trying to think of the last time there were widespread calls for any politician to apologize for lying. When apologies are demanded it seems they are demanded from political figures who speak their minds truthfully, but when I try to think of the last time a member of Congress was seriously pressured to apologize for lying I draw a blank.

Why are we not hearing demands for apologies from all the liars in Congress?

Why are we not hearing calls for apologies from all the members of Congress who shut our government down?

Why are people calling for an apology from Grayson while no one in Congress seems to be putting any serious pressure on Ted Cruz to apologize?

Can anyone seriously argue that Alan Grayson's words did more harm to our nation than Ted Cruz's actions?

I am sick to death of a Washington that demands apologies from truth tellers but virtually never demands apologies from liars.

What he said was true.

Now what I want to know is why hasn't Cruz apologized for the stunt in front of the White House? Remember the one that started by tearing down barricades at the WWII Memorial? Speaking of that just exactly how many republicans have come with a public statement condemning or at least not supporting a rebel battle flag being waved at the White House?

If I just moved to the other side of Aloma Ave. Grayson would be my Congress Rep. But no, I get mica. Hopefully in Nov 2014 that will change and my district will get a new Rep. I know I will not forget this shutdown or this Congress. What a waste. I will be sure to remind everyone I see.

Randi Rhodes is far too abrasive for me, I can't stand her. She is nothing like Grayson, when she turns off her own side nearly as much as she turns off the opposition she can't expect to last.

Bill Maher lost his job and then had it replaced with a new job that offers him far more freedom to say what he wants than he had on his old show.

Olbermann lost his job not because of anything he said, but because of his inability to work with others.

David Sirota worked for Clear Channel, the most right-wing media conglomerate in the nation. Clear Channel is even worse than FOX, it should be a badge of honor for Sirota to get fired by them.

He also put president Obama in a bad spot. If he is asked he will have to disavow the comment.

There has been an influx of hate groups since Obama was elected (see SPLC). Giving tea party members an opportunity to deny racism in their ranks does more harm than good. The "some of my best friends are black" argument is ready. Along with an easy opportunity to garner sympathy from people whose understanding of race is only superficial.

Inflammatory language is counterproductive when we are trying to hold republicans accountable for showing extreme disrespect to the president.
