Paper. Pen. Telephone. Please media. The web is not the only damn way to sign up for the ACA!

Do we need a category for young people related to being handicapped when it comes to writing, reading and talking on anything except a cell phone, a tablet or social networking. This is known as de-evolution.

2. You still need systems to process paper apps

System interfaces are what verifies identities, incomes, calculates subsidies and performs enrollments with insurance companies.

So you have an applicant's info on paper. Now what do you do with it?

Unless every interfacing partner is prepared to go to a manual process, and I guarantee you they aren't, how can this work?

3. There are still manual processes and record keeping in place. Just ask Iron Mountain Inc.

The government and major companies also have contingency plans in place just in case the electric grid and satellite communications go down. I worked in IT for 26 years with major corporations with federal Medicare contracts and actually did testing of manual operations. Everything from cutting checks to banking transactions. The interfacing partners that matter are prepared.

required to go manual. I've seen diagrams of the interfaces. It would be a daunting task.

you could not navigate the website. They have the man power in place for anyone to call the 1-800 number and apply. You will then receive paperwork to fill out. Anything involving a large amount of people is daunting.

6. As I said, filling out a paper app is only one step

All of that information then needs to be sent to a large number of other parties/systems for verifications, calculations, plan info and ultimately enrollment. Consumers need to be manually notified at varous points of the process to provide/verify additional information and communicate plan choices.

Maybe you can see this working manually within the next 6 weeks, but I honestly can't. Not and hope to get 7 million people enrolled.

8. I personally tested Medicare mainframe and web systems for 26 years. Testing non system

manual processes was part of the testing. I lost count of my trips to Baltimore where The Department of Heath and Human Services is located. The millions of people can be handled. I have no doubt. And I think the doubters will be proven wrong and Ted Cruz and his supporters will go down on flames very soon.

9. I think it's fairly obvious they didn't have time to test the SYSTEMS,

let alone test any manual fall back processes they might have in place.

I'm glad you're confident...because if they can't get the systems and interfaces fixed in time, we'll find out.

I hope I'm wrong, but I fear I'm not.

7. The republicans who run the media don't want you to know facts about Obamacare.

They are overwhelmingly on the losing side. But they are beginning to sense the losing nature of their position, i think. We will see some changes soon. if Ann Coulter is any indication. (lol) Most conservatives find it difficult or impossible to change. So it will take some time so they can do it and not look like losers.
