There aren't really any "centrist" Republicans in power any more. All of them have been enabling and continue to enable extremists in their party, since all they care about is money and power.

Instead of "centrist" Repubs vs. Tea Parry Repubs, it should be old school *establishment* Repubs vs. newbies attempting to overthrow and replace the current leadership in the party.

I agree, the party is split into right and far-right. Centrist was a poor choice.

The whole political spectrum has been pulled so far right there practically isn't a left left. I'm so burned out on the RWNJ's bashing everything that isn't radically "right" as... aaarrgh... need I repeat all their tactics? MSM all pulled right via Faux noise, except for MSNBC. The rhetoric used to describe them by RW is unbelievable... exactly that. But then I've been attempting to argue with Tea Party followers on RW sites lately until I've run out of energy. They are so vocal.
I try to follow our leader's example. Stay on message. Don't adopt any of their mudslinging or childish behavior. Let them throw the tantrums. Leaves us standing at the end, the only reasonable adult in the room.
Boehner and ilk have gotten so spoiled to getting their way, compromising or destruction of every Dem position no matter how centrist... and look what happened:
They threw a major tantrum.
Give 'em enough rope, they'll hang themselves.
